Updates, Manifest and Hardcore Br00tality
I’m back in action and made some changes to this blog. As you can see I’ve changed the banner and changed the theme to the version with a sidebar. I’ve added reviews of anime in an anime reviews section which you can find under pages. I’ve decided to remove all my previous posts to get a fresh start because to be honest – I wrote a lot of bullshit posts. I plan to stop writing episode by episode reviews and now I’ll stick to writing full show reviews. Keeping up to date with shows can be stressing at times and I would rather watch shows at my own pace.
Reviews will always be on pages while you will be informed of updates via blog posts. All little thoughts on life, music and anime will be written in a casual manner on blog posts as well. I’m also considering doing music reviews and I recently bought my first model at Manifest, so I might start collecting models and do reviews and photo shoots. Manifest was terrible as I waited five hours in line on the Saturday, and you even had to line up to get into the theatre to see the cosplay competition. I bought a weekend pass and went to both days. Sunday sucked as well because I couldn’t get into the cosplay competition because they couldn’t let anymore people in. The organisation at Manifest was a complete mess, but the quality of cosplay was awesome and the Manifest crowd in general seemed like a cool bunch.
I also went to a gig at the Corner Hotel which I neglected to review some time ago. I saw Carpathian playing with some other hardcore bands. The bands were pretty good and the value for money was fantastic, $12 for four bands. It was certainly more crowded than I expected, Carpathian have surprisingly hit the big time, they even hit the Australian ARIA charts at #19! That’s insane for a hardcore band. One thing I couldn’t stand at the show was the hardcore dancing. Hardcore dancing for those unfamiliar with the scene, is where hardcore kids basically throw punches and kicks to the beat of the music. Supposedly you don’t hit people while hardcore dancing but that certainly wasn’t the case at this show. Kids kept hitting people like myself, standing on the edge of the pit trying to watch the bands! Do what you want inside the pit, but please, don’t involve other people trying to enjoy the show in their own way.

Hardcore Kids 'Fucking Shit Up'

Nice, yea I also don’t like hardcore “dancing” because half the time these kids wouldn’t roll in a real fight, and people don’t go to shows trying to see how broken they can get… even in fictional DMC concerts Fcuk.
Cheers.

I’ve noticed that when a hardcore dancer gets accidentally hit by another dancer they get all angry about it and a fight breaks out. But come on, they’re throwing punches and kicks everywhere, it’s hardly going to be safe. Maybe they should enter the pit wearing pads and helmets next time?

What time did you get at Manifest? lol
Wow, five hours ……… I got there pretty late but thankfully we had a guardian waiting in line for us!

10:30. I went on the Friday to get the tickets but I didn’t realise that I needed a parents signature. Silly me, I thought it wouldn’t be that bad buying the tickets on Saturday. I should have just forged a signature….
Supernova was quite a bit more enjoyable for me, but the atmosphere and the people was so much better at Manifest.
If we both end up going next year do you want to meet up? I would like to meet some local bloggers! ^_^

Haha, sure thing! At Manifest or Supanova? ‘Cos I’m definitely going to both lol
I didn’t have parental signature, but I had a guardian so they just let us in. I was going to forge a signature too, but I promised myself never to do it again after I almost got caught one time by my year level coordinator lol
We can talk about meeting up once it gets closer to the events
Hopefully, we both remember by then as well

Both probably. I know it sounds strange saying I’ll go to Manifest after saying how bad it was but I’ll enjoy it heaps more if I preregister next year.
