Am I the only Otaku out there that actually doesn’t like Hatsune Miku at all?
Well, today I went to the under 18 Against Me! show at the Arthouse. First time being at the venue and I have to say that it’s fantastic. It’s a bar as well as a gig venue with a comfortable feeling to it. The venue has a nice garden to hang out upstairs, which was great to give your ears a break from all the noise when no bands are playing. The venue also had an area with arcade games and a pool table, had some lounges to sit back on which was a nice touch. It was fantastic and I’m definitely coming back.

After a successful run of 1,492 page views, 51 posts and 37 comments I’ve decided to move Punktaku Blog onto a host. The host I’m with is dasaku.net who I’m sure most bloggers within the anime community are familiar with.
So, welcome to the new blog! It seemed to take forever finding the right plugins and a good theme, but all the hard work has really paid off in the end. Thanks to dasaku.net and everyone who has been reading this blog up until now, and if you are kind enough to have me on your blogroll please update the link.
~A quick introduction for people who are new to this blog~
The word Punktaku is coined from the two subcultures Punk and Otaku. It was originally coined for my DIY zine owned by myself and my brother. We stocked these zines in an alternative record store ‘Missing Link’ and an anime store ‘Ozanimart’. After two issues we pretty much gave up due to work load and cost (we were producing our zine for free).
Blogging is much more convenient and cost effective, and obviously you can reach a wider audience from all around the world!

Well, sorry for the lack of updates recently, it’s partly because I’ve been busy and a bit lazy as well.
Last weekend Daniel (my brother) had his 16th birthday party and invited people for a sleep over. We played some Wii, table tennis, watched some anime, listened to music, etc. It was a nice laid back party.
First thing, we went to the cinema to see Be Kind Rewind. I’m a fan of Jack Black so naturally I was looking forward to seeing this, particularly after reading a positive review in the paper. Well, I was bitterly disappointed. The performances came off as weak, the storyline despite having a strong premise was boring and it was way too sentimental towards the end. Everyone else enjoyed it though, so I’m glad they got some enjoyment out of it.
When we got back we put on some records and chatted about pretty much anything that came to mind. We listened to the bands Against Me!, Less Than Jake, Lilly Allen, Offspring, Ramones, just to name a few. Guy brought over his bass and taught me how to play a little bit. I learned Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones and played along with my brother who plays guitar. I also learned a little bit of Song 2 by Blur. I am thinking of taking up bass so Daniel, Guy and I can start a band. Daniel on guitar, Guy on drums and myself on bass.
Back To The Festival Sunday 13th of April at Glen Waverley. Free bands/skating related festival. Some of the bands featured included The Getaway Plan, Don’t Ask Us, The Quarters and Three Last Words.
